Just in time for the busy holidays, The Evergreen Market knows how to make the festivities better – with cannabis, of course! The Evergreen Market’s employees voted to open on Christmas Day 2016 (with extra pay, of course). The management of the Seattle area marijuana stores has also agreed to donate all profits on December 25th to two local charities.
The Evergreen Market – Auburn is located at 402 16th Street NE, Suite A-100. This Auburn retail cannabis store has chosen The Auburn Food Bank & Shelter as the beneficiary of its profits. The Auburn Food Bank & Shelter started in 1930 when a family lost their home to a fire. The community gathered to help get them on their feet. After the assistance, so much aid was left over that the Auburn Community Chest was formed. Since then, they have seen substantial growth and even partnered with United Way to give more options in charitable giving. They have teamed with employers like Boeing, allowing employees the opportunity to have a portion of their paychecks donated directly to their cause.
The Evergreen Market – North Renton is located at 409 Rainier Ave N in Renton. The premier Renton marijuana shop has selected REACH as the recipient of their profits. REACH has been around for 40 years and is comprised of a group of churches and community organizations that give assistance to those in need throughout the Renton community.
Co-Founder Jeff Anderson states, “Staying open on Christmas has been made possible by a balanced mix of employees who want to work and those who want to take the day off. We are proud to stay open in order to help our clients and give back to our communities.”
Since the inception of legal marijuana in Washington, The Evergreen Market’s two Seattle area cannabis shops have added dozens of jobs and millions of dollars in tax revenue to city, state and federal governments. They have been recognized as the best marijuana retailer by King5’s Evening Magazine and have received several other cannabis industry awards.
